The Minnetonka Police Department said witnesses saw Jahon Douglas, 37, of Burnsville, kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Smith, 37, of Anoka, at gunpoint at about 4 p.m. Thursday. It happened in an industrial area just northwest of where Highways 212 and 62 come together.

Charges: Former Burnsville employee bought Xbox, personal items on city credit card

A former Burnsville city employee has been charged with four felonies after using a city-issued credit card to make more than $4,800 in personal purchases, including gift cards and a video gaming system, the Dakota County attorney's office said Thursday. Kelly Jo Hansen-Mundahl, 44, of Prior Lake, also was charged with forging documents in connection with making improper withdraws from the city's deferred compensation plan, charges said.

Eagan's city hall, police buildings up for improvements

Eagan's adjoining city hall and police facilities haven't seen major improvements since the mid-1990s, but that's soon to change with a $15.7 million fix. The Eagan City Council this week approved final designs for a renovation and expansion of the municipal buildings at 3830 Pilot Knob Road, a project that will modernize both facilities to reflect current needs, according to the city.
