Casa Grande, Arizona is situated approximately halfway between Tucson and Phoenix. It was named in honor of the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument which preserves a group of Hohokam structures. Casa Grande was founded in 1879 during Arizona's mining boom. In the early 1960s the San Francisco Giants used the Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort as their spring training location. A murder case against an Eloy man who spent four years in jail awaiting trial has been dismissed due to a lack of evidence. The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that 58-year-old Arturo Jimenez quietly said "thank you" when a Pinal County Superior Court judge Friday granted a prosecution motion to dismiss murder and burglary charges.

Nighttime lane restrictions on I-10 near Casa Grande for next two weeks

TUCSON, AZ - The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following nighttime restrictions next week on Interstate 10 approaching the I-8 interchange in Casa Grande. Crews will be removing overhead sign structures as part of the I-10 widening project now underway.

Construction projects will widen I-10 by adding new lanes

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. - The Arizona Department of Transportation says Interstate 10 in 18 months will have three lanes in each direction between Casa Grande and Tucson.

I-10 widening project to begin in Casa Grande

TUCSON, AZ - For the next 18 months, drivers who frequent Interstate 10 between Tucson and Phoenix, will be seeing more construction work as crews begin widening the interstate to three lanes in each direction. According to an Arizona Department of Transportation news release, widening work will take place from just south of Earley Road to Interstate 8 in Casa Grande.
