Henderson, not to be confused with Hendersonville, is located in the northern piedmont region of North Carolina. It is the birthplace of both Ben E. King (singer and co-composer of "Stand by Me") and Charlie Rose (60 Minutes correspondent, PBS talk show host). The city of Henderson was named in honor of former North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Leonard Henderson.
