Lakewood is located in central Colorado, just outside of Denver and is part of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was built by Charles Welch and W. A. H. Loveland, who together constructed thirteen blocks in eastern Jefferson County in 1889. Loveland, who was once president of the Colorado Central Railroad, retired to his newly built community. Man struck multiple times in Lakewood auto-pedestrian accident identified

Police say the man who died after being struck by multiple cars in Lakewood Sunday night was 57-year-old Kevin Michael Damico. Damico was in the southbound lanes of Wadsworth Boulevard at West Florida Avenue at 10:20 p.m. when he was struck by multiple cars.

Lakewood mother pleads not guilty to felony child abuse

The Lakewood woman arrested in October in connection with the alleged assault of her then 2-year-old daughter pleaded not guilty to all charges on Dec. 11. Melissa Mangeri, 28, will return to court for a motions hearing on Feb. 8. According to the arrest affidavit, Mangeri was present during one or more of the reported assaults on her daughter and failed to seek assistance.
