Logan is located in northern Utah. The city's motto is "United in Service." It was founded in 1859 by Mormon settlers who were sent by Brigham Young to find a place to establish a fort near the Logan River. The settlers decided to name their new community after Ephraim Logan who was a prominent fur trapper in the area. The city was incorporated in 1866.
