Demolition of old Fargo city hall set to begin in two weeks Monday, October 22

City administrator Bruce Grubb says once the move was made last month to the new city hall adjacent to the 60 year old building, remaining furniture and fixtures were salvaged by several non-profit organizations and asebestos removal started last week. Cause of two alarm fire in Fargo under investigation Sunday, October 21

The fire department says around 6:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a commercial building at 3313 Fiechtner Dr. S. On scene, smoke was seen coming from two of the seven businesses in the building. The department says because it was a commercial building without sprinklers or a fire detection system, a second alarm was called by the first arriving unit in anticipation that the fire had had time to grow.
