No injuries reported in Sunday house fire

AMES, Iowa-Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an Independent who ran as a Democratic presidential candidates in 2016 and narrowly lost the Iowa Caucuses to Hillary Clinton, implored young Iowans to vote in the upcoming November 6th mid-term election. "This is, in fact, the most important mid-term election in the history of the United State of America," Sanders told a crowd of 750, many of them students, at a Sunday afternoon rally at Iowa State University in Ames.

Halligan - 85 years old

Her family includes her husband, Donald M. Halligan Sr., Don Jr. and Leanne Halligan, of Lehigh; Kim and Richard Langholz, of Mount Holly, North Carolina; Kevin Halligan, of Fort Dodge; Colleen and Chip Dencklau, of Fort Dodge. She has eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sewer, electrical issues to come before FD council

A sanitary sewer rate increase and a plan to relocate overhead electric lines along 15th Street are on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday. Money from the proposed sewer rate increase would be used to continue fixing the problems that lead to sewage in basements during heavy rains.

Heading downtown

This is the second Build a Better Block event hosted by Main Street Fort Dodge. It will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1018 Central Ave. At the event, attendees will help transform the vacant former Dodge Theatre into a pop-up museum celebrating Fort Dodge's history in the film and production industry.

Motorcycle crash reported

The crash was reported at 3:54 p.m. along North 15th Street near the intersection of Seventh Avenue North. According to the crash report, Landon Schnetzer, 24, of Humboldt, attempted to turn his SUV eastbound - the wrong way - onto Seventh Avenue North, and collided with the oncoming motorcycle driven by Triston Licht, 18, of Fort Dodge.
