He was jailed on $2,500 bond pending a court hearing Oct. 18. a Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and larceny was reported June 13 on the 2000 block of Brookrun Road, Henderson.

Two local men convicted on federal gun charges

It was announced Thursday that two local men, one from Henderson and another from Manson, received three years in prison each after being convicted in two seperate federal gun cases. According to releases from the United States Attorney's office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Lajohn Champion, 28, of Henderson, and Jatwaun Donkes Davis, 27, of Manson, were each sentenced to 36 months imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release by Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever III.

Race track issue is raising a ruckus in Warren County

The Warren County Board of Commissioners voted in April to impose a 90-day moratorium on racing at Country Boy's Racing in the Afton-Elberon community southwest of Warrenton. Deborah and Ken Ferruccio live near the end of Davis-Hyman Road and must drive past the racetrack to get to their home.

It has been just over six months since A Safe Place opened its doors in Henderson and in that time it has served more than a dozen individuals and families in need of emergency shelter. When it did open, A Safe Place was one of the few shelters in the area focused on housing not only women, but families with male children over the age of 12, which many adult shelters don't serve because of liability issues.

Henderson man sentenced in federal court

A Henderson man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to more than six years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this year to gun and drug charges. According to a release from the office of U.S. Attorney Robert J. Higdon Jr., Qua'Moria Ronde Davis, 20, of Henderson, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan to 78 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
