Police ID woman who may have fallen into river

The Idaho Falls Police Department, in a Monday announcement, released the name and photo of a woman who "may have fallen in the " late on the evening of May 9. The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Kayla Davis of Idaho Falls, the release said. Davis is approximately 5-foot-8, has blonde hair, green eyes and sometimes wears glasses.

Police mum on fatal Blackfoot shooting

Law enforcement officials have not released the name of the 24-year-old man shot dead in an officer-involved shooting Friday night in Blackfoot. The investigation has been taken over by the Pocatello Police and the Idaho State Police.

Police shoot, kill suspect who stabbed woman

Blackfoot Police officers were dispatched at about 10:45 p.m. to the 1200 block of South Broadway after a report of a man holding a 20-year-old woman against her will with a knife, a Blackfoot Police news release said. Once officers arrived on scene the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands and stabbed the victim.

Two lawyers are suing every school district in Idaho in federal court, the next step in their quest to push for increased education funding. Robert Huntley, a former judge and Democratic politician who helped to craft Idaho's sales tax law as a state House member in 1965 who is now a lawyer in Boise, has filed numerous suits over the years challenging Idaho's school funding system.

A Pocatello woman who made international headlines in 2015 after she was fired from her job as a middle school cafeteria worker just days before Christmas has died. Dalene Bowden, 53, of Pocatello, died peacefully at her daughter Tabitha Bowden's home last Thursday, the Idaho State Journal reported.
